Childhood must be protected, even under bombs.

Children on the front line in Ukraine spend most of their time in shelters. Civilians can no longer get there, so our gifts are delivered by soldiers. Last year a drone destroyed one of those vehicles. We keep going and hand out the gifts in shelters.

The campaign is held under the patronage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. On the last stretch, gifts are delivered and handed over by Ukrainian civil-military cooperation units (CIMIC). Every handover is documented.

Where hope has gone out

We go where hope has gone out, to light it again in the eyes of children who have been unjustly robbed of their childhood.

Volunteers can no longer reach these places. The gifts are delivered and handed over by soldiers: in shelters, in basements, in homes, between air-raid alerts.

How to help

Donation

PLN 200 covers the full cost of one gift for a child on the front line. Your help reaches places others cannot.

In-kind support

Sweets, soft toys, blankets, flashlights and batteries, hand warmers, as well as 25×25 cm boxes, tape and wrapping paper. Write to us and we will send you the list of needs.

Charity auction

Artists, craftspeople and brands donate unique items. You bid on Facebook, and the proceeds go to gifts for children on the front line. The auction starts on 1 December.

About the project

Behind every gift is a real child.

Our principles are transparency, commitment and care for every child. We work as volunteers, and our greatest reward is a happy child’s smile.

After the full-scale invasion began, we created the Christmas in the line of fire project. We reach places where normal life ended long ago. Children hear explosions and drones overhead.

We cannot change the reality of war, but we can protect childhood. Our gifts are more than things. They remind children that they are not alone, even in the hardest moments.

The President of Ukraine at the Superelf Factory

On 19 December 2025, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi visited the Superelf Factory in Warsaw. He met the volunteers, packed a gift for a child on the front line himself and awarded the founder of the UNITERS Foundation, Halyna Andrushkov, the Golden Heart order.

It is an important confirmation that the work of thousands of Superelves – Poles, Ukrainians and people from many countries – is seen and needed.

Christmas without father

The heart of the foundation: a campaign for children of soldiers who died defending Ukraine. It will return in its original form when meeting the children is safe again. Until then, we run the Christmas in the line of fire edition.

Superelves are volunteers, donors and friends of the campaign: diplomats, clergy, entrepreneurs, students, seniors and entire company teams. 2,980 Superelves have already joined Christmas in the line of fire. You can pack gifts at the Factory, fundraise with your team or give a gift.

Frequently asked questions

What is in the gift?

The gift includes a warm blanket, a flashlight with batteries and sweets, and for younger children also a soft toy. We pack the gifts at the Superelf Factory in Warsaw (al. Jerozolimskie 30). We do not include used items.

How does the gift reach the child?

Gifts go to children aged 0–16 from towns and villages 0–30 km from the front line in Ukraine. Civilian volunteers cannot travel there, so on the last stretch the gifts are delivered and handed over by Ukrainian civil-military cooperation units (CIMIC). Every handover is documented, and we publish a report after the campaign.

What is my donation used for?

PLN 200 covers the full cost of one gift: contents, box and transport. Some gifts are made from in-kind donations from companies and individuals, and cash donations cover missing products, packaging and logistics.

Does the Christmas campaign fund other foundation goals?

No. Donations to Christmas in the line of fire are used only for gifts for children. Other UNITERS Foundation programmes are accounted for separately.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

In Poland, yes. The UNITERS Foundation is a public benefit organisation (OPP). Proof of donation is your bank transfer confirmation or the online payment confirmation e-mail. If you need a certificate, write to kontakt@uniters.org.pl. Tax rules in other countries may differ.

Where can I find the foundation's reports?

Financial statements and the statute are in the Reports section. Foundation details: KRS 0000881474, NIP 5242913528. We will publish the 2026 campaign report by 15 January 2027.

How can I help children in Ukraine?

The simplest way is to give a gift. PLN 200 covers the full cost of one parcel for a child on the front line (contents, box and transport). You can also bring items from our needs list, pack gifts at the Superelf Factory in Warsaw or bid in our charity auction, which starts on 1 December.

Where can I donate to help Ukraine?

Right here: the “Give a gift” button leads to a secure Stripe payment. You can also make a bank transfer to the UNITERS Foundation (details at the bottom of the page) or donate via PayPal on the Donate page. The appeal runs until 25 December inclusive.

Can I pay with BLIK?

About the UNITERS Foundation

It started with a mother, a daughter and 40 gifts

In 2014 Halyna Andrushkov and her daughter Viktoria Batryn wanted to prepare Christmas gifts for 40 children who had lost their fathers in the war. When they told others about the idea, people brought gifts for 900 children.

Today UNITERS is more than 3,000 volunteers from around the world, a Help Point in Warsaw open six days a week, medical and humanitarian aid, and projects for children and families in Poland and Ukraine.
